Hey y’all,
I am finally starting to write about the Malacca trip. I know many a few of you can’t wait for me to write/type/post/blog about this. You know what, I can’t wait to blog about this myself.
My reason for posting about the trip the last is because I was waiting for Sheng to post her rendition of the Malacca post ‘cos I predicted she would be adding almost all the pictures everyone sent to her into her blog (which I was right) So I wanted to make sure that I do not post the same stuffs that she posted.
Be prepared… for a SUPER long entry.
*****
My
very very VERY kind and sporting class teacher, Pn. Sulo (well, I can’t say anything bad ’bout her here ‘cos her daughter *coughs* *coughs* might read this anytime…. you know who you are *tsk* *tsk*… but I wasn’t lying, she’s a great teacher), had planned for our class field trip to Malacca even since the first few months of school started!
I was really looking forward to the Malacca trip with my entire class because it would be our last day together as classmates after 3 years of studying under the same roof.
Just in case I made it sound like it’s a one-month long vacation together… no it’s not. It is just a ONE DAY outing… which I have to say… was already very satisfying.
My friends and I gathered in the school canteen at about 7:30AM.
*Presenting you… the first picture for this entry. Trust me, there are many more to go.*
Welcome to the ever-so-low-class school canteen, Subang Utama High’s
CANTEEN!
And the bus arrived at 8:15AM.
Yongming, the guy who persevered sitting beside me throughout the 2.5 hour journey to Malacca. Thanks for enduring my jakun-ness and annoying attitude for, not only the 2.5 hour journey…. but three years as best friends.
*2.5 hours later….*
Selamat datang ke Malacca, saya Matthew, tour guide kamu pada hari ini.
*Welcome to Malacca, I’m Matthew, your tour guide for today*
First stop; Christ Church Malacca
Me standing before a 254 year old church. Cool eh?
Khim, Sheng and I with the trishaw man.
*Pn Tan Pek Ngoh yells*
Aiyoh… I wasn’t done posing around the church… the pack already left for the next location, The Stadthuys building, a few footsteps away from the Christ Church of Malacca.
Next stop; The Stadhuys building
Zarul, the statue and I. I was trying to imitate the statue f.y.i.. not doing some LALA POSE!
Big boys POSE; Nigel and I.
They seize, they colonize, they conquer.
The Malacca, Portuguese, Dutch, British and Japanese soldiers
Black or white, young or old, mannequins or human beings, anyone can show the LAME/LOSER sign.
Matt (myself) & Alya, loyal photographer/great friend ;P
Crammed in a small kampung house.
A replica of the Netherlands’s yacht to Malacca in the 1700s.
Eh don’t play play with me k! I am lying on Laksamana (Admiral) Cheng Ho’s humongous foot!!
Prison break – the grill looked similar like the ones in jail so I figured it’ll be cool to pose with it.
*Presenting you… one of my MOST favorite picture taken on that day*

America’s Next Top Model; Top 5… in
MALACCA.
Gimme a hug… in the MUSEUM.
Matt (myself), Hasif and Yew Han.
Behind us is a replica of the Parliament building in Kuala Lumpur (I know how ironic right?!… we’re in Malacca but they display buildings we can see back in our own state)
1 million stories of teens in red. I can see millions of me. Cool eh the mirror?
Ok… whoever who were with me will always be close to get missing.. ‘cos ALL of them had to wait for me to pose with/at EVERY single thing I see. So…. lesson learned everyone; don’t follow me! =P
Next stop; A’ Famosa Fort
Yes, WALK UP! All the way UP!!
OMG, I look good… even though I was panting and out of breath! *thumbs up to myself*
Handless Saint Paul and Matt (myself).
*Presenting you… another MOST favorite picture taken on that day*

The Great Saint Paul looking down upon us. Looks great.
Um… I have no idea what’s this. I shall call it “Matthew-The-Greatest-letter-in god-knows-what-language”… until someone tells me what’s this thing called/for.
Teachers, friends and I (I’m the one doing some weird
cicakman pose f.y.i)
Friends; Alya, Rosliana, Matt (myself), Heng Wai
Get out of the way. My entrance.
My class teeshirt camouflages the walls of the fort… well.. sorta.
My cannon.
Ok, the last time I went to Malacca (been to the exact location which my classmates and I went that day, that is) was 6 years ago, when I was still a 3rd grader!!
Ok before y’all comment about how I looked… allow me to start.
*clears throat* OH MY LORD, I look soooo damn fat like a fucking donkey. OMG, WHAT ON EARTH AM I WEARING?!!! An outfit specially for the bees?!!! and and…. what in god’s name is that hair style on my round fish-ball-like head???!!! That’s sooo…. ancient!
Ok now shut up.
Next stop; Dataran Pahlawan
The bus dropped us down at Dataran Pahlawan for lunch. We split into groups and went in separate ways. Yongming, Khim, Ryan and I ate at the nearby hawker stalls.
My fish ball noodles; Chinese cuisine
Blended ice with strawberries and assorted jelly.
Later, we walked to Mahkota Parade Shopping Mall which was just directly opposite the hawker stalls we had our lunch at.
Was horny.
I saw ‘Din having a similar picture to the one above on his MySpace… so I thought that poster of Kylie Minogue pasted on the wall of a CD shop looked cool for me to pose with =P
Candid shot; McDonald’s McFlurry
Next stop; Maritime Museum
Evan Almighty built it =D
That ark is the Maritime Museum. We didn’t go inside the ship though. But we did drop by the souvenir shop situated right in front of that ark.
Ok… Bryan, if you’re reading this, I am sure you know what I am gonna write next right? Haha… I’m not gonna blog about that incident which I am sure none of you bother to read (or probably had listened already) Relating to that occurrence, Malacca old folks are really really senile and blur (some of them at least).
Next stop; Candy store
Boys in the candy shop; Hasif and I
It’s no ordinary candy store f.y.i. The stuffs on the shelves were basically local delicacies. I bought a small tray of local confections, coconut candy and durian cakes which cost me 15 Ringgit altogether. My teacher gave my classmates and I a box of coconut pudding (it’s call a
dodol if I am not mistaken).
Final moments together in the bus…
Bunch of happy, joyful and cheery people (spot me? I am somewhere behind.)

Before I end this entry, I wanna let the world know how much I love my classmates, each and everyone of them (except for a few annoying brats la). But still, I never spent 3 years of school with the exact same faces in the same class in my life before. I got closer to them as the years passed. So fun k studying with them and I am not kidding.
It was a blissful day. I can’t ask for any better.
